Please someone tell me I'm not the only person who can spend a good 30min editing an Instagram picture. I enjoy editing them way too much, but I guess I could enjoy worse things. Now that many of us are on winter break and have a lot of time in our hands, we might (emphasis on 'might') go out, do fun things and take pictures - to Instagram of course, because what would you take pictures for otherwise? So I thought I would share with you how I like to edit my pictures.

I always try to do be creative -and by creative I mean using HB1 instead of HB2 on VSCOcam. However, I usually end up doing the same process because I'm too scared of breaking my non-existent theme. My favourite app to use is VSCOcam, which is available on the App Store and Play Store for free. It's honestly the best editing app I've ever used, even better than paid ones.

So, the first thing I do is, obviously, take a super artsy picture and open it with VSCOcam. I then play a bit with the filters and after trying 100 ones I ALWAYS end up using either HB2 (which doesn't come with the app but you can download it for free from the store). Then I increase the brightness to +2/+4 and increase the contrast +1. If I took the picture with my phone I'll increase the sharpness to around +3 to make the photo more defined. I also like to decrease the temperature by 1 or 2 so that all my photos have a bit of a blue tone.

I then open them on Instagram and increase the brightness slightly a tiny bit before writing a lame caption and publishing it.

This term I've been so crazy busy with uni that I haven't had time to explore London much, hence the lack of 'out and about' posts. However, I HAD to go to Winter Wonderland at some point before going home.  I love Christmas and anything remotely Christmassy - mainly lights and shiny things, I'm like a little kid.

I think Winter Wonderland is one of those places that you always want to go even though you know that a) it's going to be exactly the same as the previous year, b) it's gonna be packed and c) it's so overpriced.  As every single year, it made me feel really Christmassy and in spite of the huge amount of deliciously smelling food I controlled myself and only bought some fudge -easily the best fudge I've ever had - and some churros with chocolate because why wouldn't I buy overpriced churros sold by German people in London when I'm going to Spain in a few days? I didn't go on any of the rides as I didn't fancy being sick after eating and I'm not really a fan of rollercoasters anyway.

After Winter Wonderland we went to Knightsbridge - somehow that's where Kate and I always end up at. There were so many buildings with the cutest Christmas decorations and trees. I've never had a real Christmas tree, which is why I'm so obsessed with them and why I frantically take a hundred pictures every time I see one.

It's *almost* Christmas! I am so looking forward to the holidays and winter break -which I'll spend revising YAS. After living in London in a few years I've come to realise that this is probably the best place to be during Christmas -other than New York of course. There are so many events going on and places to visit that it's honestly impossible to get bored. I would miserably fail if I tried to list every single possible thing to do in London, but here are some of my favourite activities!

1. Christmas Lights. I love going to Central London (i.e Picadilly and Soho area) to see the lights, they are so pretty and I love that they change most of them every year. I am obsessed with this year's Regent Street's lights, they are so dainty and beautiful. I was literally screaming the first time I saw them.

2. English National Opera. Sometimes it's just too cold to go outdoors so what a better way of spending your afternoon than at the ENO. It's a great way to disconnect from technology and the real world, whilst having an amazing time. If you would like to know which operas are on at the moment you can click here, they have a wide variety so you can choose whichever you think you'll like more! I would love to go see the Norma Opera, which looks so good!

3. Ice Skating. There are a few places in London to go ice-skating, some are cheaper than others but some are prettier than others too. My favourite spots are the NHM and Somerset House, they are both absolutely stunning places that really have a festive and christmassy atmosphere.

4. Christmas Markets. Winter Wonderland is probably the most famous one but there are many more around the city (and significantly less crowded too). My  favourite one is the one in Southbank, it's like being in the North Pole minus the -50˚C temperatures.

5. Stay in. Sometime we can't face the beautiful madness that London is during the holidays. When I'm in that mood I love staying in bed all day watching Elf and Santa Clause or baking some Christmas cookies and decorating the house to make it look festive!

These are some of the things I love doing during winter break, what do you love doing?

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner, meaning it’s time to freak out because there is nothing to wear in my wardrobe, even though I went shopping a few days ago. Oh, what is life. If you’re like me and never seem to have anything to wear, despite having 100 different dresses, I’ve got you covered this year.

I recently came across the website Promtimes, which as the name itself suggests, offer a wide variety of prom dresses. However, who says you can’t wear a prom dress to a NYE party? (Hint: the answer is no one). All of their dresses are really cheap, making it the perfect store for this time of the year, when we spend all of our savings buying presents for our loved ones. They have many different styles so you’re bound to find at least one that you love.

They offer short dresses for as little as £30 and some  stunning princess-like long dresses for less than £100. You can thank me later, girl.

These are my three favourite short dresses from Promtimes. They are all absolutely gorgeous. I particularly love the black one just because it’s black and anyone who knows me knows that 90% of my wardrobe is black.  Also, it reminds me of something Blair Waldorf would wear, so it doesn’t get any better than that.

Have you ever bough something from Promtimes? Do you know what you’re going to wear on NYE?

I recently shared my Christmas wishlist on my blog, and you guys seemed to like it so here's another one. And since, Christmas is all about giving (and receiving), maybe you can get some ideas of what to get your friends, sisters, etc. Many (most) of the things on my wihslist are on the more expensive side, I'm talking Prada, Fendi, Burberry, etc but many high street stores offer really similar pieces for a much smaller price tag.

Christmas wishlist 2015

My favourite item on this wishlist is probably the skirt, it's much bolder than my usual choices but I've been lusting over it for so long. It's from the Kendall + Kylie collection from Topshop and it's honestly what dreams are made of.

I've read many mixed reviews about Kylie's new lip products, many people seem to agree that they are a bit drying. Nevertheless, I really want to try them as they do look really good!

What's on your wishlist?

Someone please explain to me how is it December already. I swear it was January two days ago. The older I get the faster the years go by, and it's a bit scary. Nevertheless, I'm beyond excited for Christmas and December in general. It's my favourite month of the year; everyone is just so happy and jolly, there are pretty lights everywhere, I have an excuse to stay in bed and watch Christmas movies. It doesn't get any better than that. I recently saw Megan from Lazy Thoughts  doing this Christmas Tag and I really enjoyed reading it, so I thought it would be fun to do it too!

1. What is your favourite Christmas film?
The Holiday, I love it so much I actually watch it all year around. I also cry every time I watch it, it's just too cute.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas eve or Christmas morning?
Christmas Eve. Every year I tell myself I'll open them on Christmas morning but I can't resist. Maybe this year...

3. Do you like to stay in your PJs on Christmas day or dress up?
I would like to stay in my Christmassy PJs but I have to get dressed. I don't dress up but I wear 'normal' clothes, as in not a glittery jumper with a big Santa Claus on it.

4. If you could only buy one person a present this year, who would it be?
That's an easy one! My sister. She's the only one I buy presents for anyway!

5. Have you ever built a gingerbread house?

No, I'm that person who waits for someone else to build it and then eats it. I would like to build one though, it does look fun. Thinking about it, I would probably end up eating the roof or the door before I've even finished building it.

6. What do you like to do on your Christmas break?
What I like to do is completely different to what I actually do. I would like to go home and relax, watch some movies, spend time with my family and just chill. In real life, though, I do spend my Christmas break at home but not chilling. I spend it revising because I have exams in January. Gotta love uni!

7. Any Christmas wishes?

To have time to revise all my modules?

8. Favourite Christmas food?

Nougat, I could eat it non stop. I also like marzipan though.

9. Candy cane or gingerbread man?
I'm not a fan of ginger and candy canes look really festive so I'll go with candy cane!

10. What is at the top of your Christmas list?

To get straight As on my Jan exams. However, if we're talking about an actual present, I would have to say either Chanel Chance or Laura Mercier Vanille Gourmande. I'm running out of my current perfume so I 'need' to get a new one.

I don't know about you but I'm feeling 22 to me the holiday season means there will be plenty of tempting, mouth-watering, delicious food everywhere. Unfortunately, all my self-control drops down to 0 whenever I see any kind of pie, cake or just dessert in general. Therefore, I like to be prepared for the food feast I KNOW I'll be having. Most people start working out and eating healthy after Christmas. I'm special and start doing so before Christmas.

Is there anything better than guilt-free cake? I don't think so. Do you want guilt-free cake? Let me tell you how to get it.

You can stop eating a week before the holidays and yes, you will loose weight, but you'll probably put everything back on and more (plus, you NEED to eat). Or, you can burn calories whilst sitting on the sofa watching TV. And yes, I mean that literally.

It's been proven that if you have more muscle mass your body will automatically burn more calories. So let's say you start working out and get fitter, you'll burn more calories even when you're sleeping, watching movies, etc. Isn't that amazing? I think it is. Before the holiday season, instead of going on a crazy diet (can't say no to pizza) or being a cardio goddess every day, I prefer to do something like pilates. It does not only get me toned, which is great, but it also gets me ready for all the yummy cakes I'll be eating in a few weeks. Cannot wait, the excitement is too much.

This was a really random post and most of you might be like 'wtf is that'. I know, I know, but I just felt like writing it so I'm sorry but you'll have to deal with my weirdness.

I blame it on Kylie Jenner, she's the reason why I started loving nude lipsticks and now my addiction is out of control. She should fund my make up collection, just saying. Anyway, today I'm going to share with the world my favourite nude lipstick. It's one of those lipsticks that you wear literally every single day for weeks after you buy it, so you know it was worth every single dollar.

I'm talking about the Clinique Pop Lip Colour in Nude Pop. It's the first Clinique lipstick I own and, even though they're not as good as MAC's, they come quite close. The formula is really nourishing and moisturising, making it really easy to apply. It's not long lasting, maybe a few hours, but for such a hydrating lipstick it's quite good. I would like to try a bolder colour to see if it lasts any longer, though.

The colour is absolutely stunning. It's a demi-matte nude with a pink undertone that I find really suits me. I usually wear it with MAC's lip liner in Boldly Bare, these two go perfectly together and the lip liner makes the colour last for a bit longer.

Clinique Pop Lip Colour lipsticks retail at £14-16 so they're not too expensive for a high-end lipstick, and there's a wide range of different colours available.
